The philosophy behind all Kingfisher Original creations is to express the natural beauty and character of the wood in a simple and elegant fashion. Each piece is crafted by hand, designed by our hardwood guru and is one of a kind. Given the individuality of the wood and handcrafted nature, matched sets will always be a little different but related through the sculpting and design process.

Each species of wood has its own beauty & characteristics. Each project is inspired through elements in nature. Creations used for eating or serving food are finished with completely natural and organic materials. All finishes are done by hand, using traditional methods.

All work is custom made with the intentions, styles, and preferences of the recipient in mind. Excellence and quality sets each work of art made by Kingfisher Originals apart from the rest. Each piece is a functional work of art, that will last a lifetime. Use it and enjoy it.

Everything seen on site is for sale but more specifically used as a design guide to help clients visualize their desires. If you like something or want a specific change in wood, size, style, etc. just ask. Everything is tailored to the client and to bring out the beauty of the wood through artistic expression.

Kingfisher Originals operates out of a 6,000 square foot fully furnished wood and metal working shop in the Metro Detroit Area.
